Arthritis, both rheumatoid and osteo, can be helped by acupuncture. Acupuncture can reduce inflamation and improve mobility at large and small joints.

Anorexia, bulimia, weight problems

Auto-immune disorders, e.g. MS, haemolytic anaemia, hypo-thyroid or Hashimoto's disease, inflammatory connective tissue disease such rheumatoid arthritis can be helped by acupuncture because acupuncture helps to calm an over-reactive immune response.

Acupuncture for backache is proven to be effective for both chronic and acute backache. *Number of treatments required usually 1 - 6.

Frozen-shoulder, and other problems affecting muscles and bones can be a very effective and quick treatment especially if acupuncture is started soon. Frozen shoulders can sometimes last for more than a year without effective treatment.

Bells Palsy and other neurological problems can be treated by acupuncture so that full movement of the muscles return. the quicker one seeks acupuncture treatment for Bells Palsy the better the results.

Cystitis and other recurring conditions are very effectively treated by acupuncture. *Number of treatments - acute cystitis - 1-4 treatments.

Chronic recurring cystitis - Often cystitis can recurr for many years. Often some underlying inflamation in the urethra causes typical cystitis type symptoms, and this too can be treated well by acupuncture. This can take up to several months of treatments at 2-3 week intervals for prevention.

Eating disorder treatments - these are particularly amenable to NLP treatment. If there are associated physical symptoms, such as dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing) or pain, then acupuncture may be used in conjunction if necessary. Eating disorder treatments include anorexia, over-eating, binge eating. Allow 12-18 treatments for anorexia, 12 treatments for obesity, and 8 - 12 treatments for other eating problems.

Flu and common colds can be very effectively treated by acupuncture. In these cases acupuncture works by supporting the immune system and the infection clears up remarkably quickly. *Number of treatments - 1-3

Depression, anxiety, insomnia are all ammenable to acupuncture treatment. A Western medical explanation for this is that acupuncture increases a variety of neurotransmitters and hormones in the body, including serotonin and noradrenalin, both mood enhancers. From an acupuncture persective we seek to realign a person's energy so that thoughts and feelings are in harmony at their deepest level. Acupuncture has been shown to work either way.

Acupuncture treatment for Hayfever and Chronic Rhinitis as well as other allergies works incredibly well, even for those who have suffered from these for many years. *Number of treatments: 1-5

Acupuncture for Hheart Disease

Hormonal disturbances can be rebalanced using acupuncture.

Acupuncture for infertility - is now proven to be effective and some infertility clinics even recommend acupuncture on its own as a treatment for fertility disorders.

Insomnia responds well to acupuncture treatment and the majority of patients find that they sleep extremely well after acupuncture. A series of treatment is required so that the effect is long lasting. *Number of treatments: one - ten months of fortnightly treatments - average six months.

Irritable bowel or IBS and other Bowel Disorders are readily resolved by acupuncture.

Menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, anxiety, forgetfulness have been shown, in research trials, to respond well to acupuncture treatment. *Number of treatments: 6 weekly - fortnightly.

ME and its symptoms of chronic fatigue, muscle aches, sleep irregularities, responds very well to acupuncture and there is no reason to wait before going to see an acupuncturist. Sometimes ME lasts for many years without effective acupuncture treatment. *Number of treatments: varies greatly.

Post natal acupuncture is enormously beneficial for new mothers. New mothers can also benefit from treatment to reduce swelling in the limbs, and to help speed up recovery after caesarians. It is also very effective for treating mastitis. This clinic is child friendly and breast feeding friendly, and provides a quiet room for breast feeding (just let me know in advance that you would like this to be made available). I know that it is otherwise very difficult for new mothers to come for much needed treatment.

Pregnancy symptoms such as nausea,or hyper-emesis, mal-positioned fetus, delayed labor are all safely and effectively treated by acupuncture, without producing any side effects for you or your baby.

Neuritis and trigeminal neuralgia causes terrible pain but fortunately acupuncture can bring relief and reduce both the inflamation and pain.

Acupuncture for recurrent miscarriage or habitual miscarriage is wonderfully successful. I have treated many women who have suffered six or seven previous miscarriages, It seems a shame to wait before giving acupuncture a try.

Shingles responds very well to acupuncture treatment. The sooner you come for treatment the quicker the results.
